How it works

How does a session build my city?

Pick a length from 5 to 60 minutes and start. Every 20 focused minutes raise one building stage, and three stages complete a block. Minutes carry over between sessions.

What counts as leaving?

Switching to another app while a session runs. Locking your phone is fine, and so is a phone call. If you slip out by accident, you have 30 seconds to come back, and Hourtown nudges you at 15 seconds if notifications are on.

What happens if I leave?

The block you were building is scarred. Fifteen focused minutes repair it. Nothing is lost for good.

What are wonder tokens?

Any session of 45 minutes or more earns one. Spend it on a landmark, such as a stadium, a sky tower or a red suspension bridge.

Weeds have appeared in my city.

They grow when you miss a few days. They are only cosmetic, and your next session clears them.

Permissions

Why does Hourtown ask for notifications?

To tell you when a session ends, and to nudge you back if you leave mid-session. Without them, the 15-second nudge cannot reach you.

Why does Hourtown ask for my location?

Only so your city has your real weather. It is optional, asked for only when you turn it on, and rounded to about 10 km before any weather lookup. Without it, Hourtown estimates season and weather from your time zone. See Privacy.

Purchases

What is free?

The whole game, with one art style. Other art styles are optional purchases that change how your city looks, never what is in it.

How do I restore a purchase?

Open Settings in Hourtown and tap Restore Purchases, signed in with the Apple ID you bought it with. Purchases belong to your Apple ID and work on all your devices.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles payments and refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
